Indosat M2 issued prepaid packages using the internet connection 3.5 G. There are two prepaid packages of classic broom and unlimited. (http://www.indosatm2.com/index.php/consumer-solution/internet-services/prepaid/broom)

For unlimited broom to consider is the payment cycle in the terms and conditions are calculated as of the date of activation.

For example, the activation date of 1 des 2008, then on 1 jan 2009 can not be used again.

If you buy a voucher on the 15th jan 2009, vouchers will only be valid until the date 1 feb 2009. Loss ya??

If you buy a voucher on 20 des 2008, the active period of up to 1 feb 2009

What about the classic broom?

For replenishment classic broom, its quota will be accumulated, but for active period taken by the due date of the longest active period and not accumulated

Example activate my case 1 des 2008 date means that I have a 200 MB quota on 60-day period and 180-day grace period

1. Then on 2 feb 2008 live the rest of the quota and 10 MB I bought a refill 100 rb.

Recharge pertanggal February 2 will get a quota of 200MB plus the remaining quota of 10 MB it will be 210 MB with active period in accordance with the nominal vouchernya or 45 days February 2 to 8 March 2009 (45 days as the number of days Feb 28-day and day March 30)

2. What if the date of the remaining 15 des 2008 quota of 20 MB and I bought a refill 100rb

To fill pertanggal December 15, 2008 then to the calculation will immediately increase its quota of 200 MB plus 20MB to 220Mb and active period for activation pertanggal 1 Desembernya have 60 days and has been running 15 days so that the remaining 45 days and for refilling has 100,000 active period same for 45 days then the active period or remain unchanged until 1 Februarinya

3. How about if the date of 2008 remains 5 des 30 MB quota, and I bought 5 RB refill

To fill pertanggal December 5, 2008 for the 5000 or 10Mb for its quota would be 30 MB plus 10 MB of 40 MB and for the active period for the previous active period of 60 days or until February 1 and vouchernya active period is 7 days then to remain active period taken the longest or have not changed that to 1 Februarinya

Now it’s up to you to choose which one?

Broom Unlimited each month to pay 100rb

Or Broom Classic pulsanya charging and discharging depending on the financial condition.

Nokia PC Suite Version 7

Nokia has been released Nokia PC Suite Version 7 and I embittered to try it. I try to uninstall Nokia PC Suite version 6.8 in my laptop firs,t before trying to download Nokia PC Suite version 7.

Then after I install the new one, I try to make internet connection using one touch connection. Unfortunately, I can’t make a connection. Disappointed. It’s seem that Nokia PC Suite Version 7 can’t make communication to my hand phone modem (nokia 6120c). Always failed on trying the communition to hand phone. I try to restart my laptop and my hand phone but the result still the same.

I try to search to google but can’t find any thing. I try the keyword, failed internet connection nokia pc suite, error after upgrading to nokia pc suite version 7 and many more. Maybe the keyword is not appropriate.

Finally, I try to remove the connection on Control Panel -> Network Connection that belong to Nokia modem. There is alot of connection using nokia modem there. I think it’s automatically generated by Nokia PC suite if you try to make internet connection using One Touch connection. The version 7 still use the connection that generated by version 6. Then binggo… i can make internet connection using Nokia PC Suite version 7.

Conclusion: After you uninstall the old version of Nokia PC Suite, you have to remove the connection on control panel -> network connection that belong to Nokia modem before you install the new version of Nokia PC Suite.

Good luck and tell me if you face another problem.

NGN and IMS

SEPARATION OF SERVICES FROM NETWORKIn a NGN there is a more defined separation between the transport (connectivity) portion of the network and the services that run on top of that transport. This means that whenever a provider wants to enable a new service, they can do so by defining it directly at the service layer without considering the transportlayer – i.e. services are independent of transport details.

SoftswitchSoftswitch: a programmable device that controls Voice over IP (VoIP) calls. The most important function of the Softswitch is creating the interface to the existingtelephone network, PSTN, through Signalling Gateways (SG) and Media Gateways (MG). Gatekeeper: a VoIP device which converts voice and data from their analog or digital switched-circuit form (PSTN, SS7) to the packet-based one (IP). The name was changed to Media Gateway Controller (MGC), using the Media Gateway Control Protocol. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a standardized NGN architecture for an Internet media-services capability defined by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). The user can connect to an IMS network in various ways, all of which use the standard Internet Protocol (IP). Direct IMS terminals (such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and computers) can register directly on an IMS network, even when they are roaming in another network or country (the visited network). The only requirement is that they can use IPv6 (also IPv4 in early IMS) and run Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) user agents. Fixed access (e.g., Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), cable modems, Ethernet), mobile access (e.g. W-CDMA, CDMA2000, GSM, GPRS) and wireless access (e.g. WLAN, WiMAX) are all supported. Other phone systems like plain old telephone service (POTS — the old analogue telephones), H.323 and non IMS-compatible VoIP systems, are supported through gateways.

All networks should be based on IP in the 2011

JAKARTA: The Indonesian telecommunications network in 2011-2012 will be based on Internet protocol (IP). The government is optimistic that the network can reach about 75% of the population in 2015.
Directorate General of Post and Telecommunication Basuki Yusuf Iskandar Depkominfo optimistic projections based on the achievement of telecommunications services roadmap in which the deployment of IP-based infrastructure was not a difficult thing.

IP-based services, he said, would encourage significant savings from the use of infrastructure, particularly about the network so that the occupancy rates of all telecommunications services certainly will come down significantly.

“If the technology is next generation networks [NGN], the basis of IP is not a difficult thing. Later in the year 2015 is estimated IP base will reach 75% of the total population of Indonesia, “he said on the sidelines of a seminar titled The Future of Telecommunication, yesterday.

Director of Network Services PT Telkom, I Nyoman G. Wiratnyana estimate at the time of IP convergence is happening in 2012 with the merging of the aggregate network, lifestyle most people in Indonesia will change.

“In the future, infrastructure and the product must be one, and would be better to serve the customer if the integrated end-to-end,” he said.

He explained that convergence should be coupled with increased attention and public awareness to the maximum network utilization.

Guntur Siboro, Marketing Director of PT Indosat Tbk, said the operator was ready to IP networks and the challenge is in connection to the customer.

He estimates the change could happen where if current 70% -80% of revenues come from voice, ecosystems may change rapidly through the Internet business model.
Dian Siswarini Network Director of PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (XL) said the operator was not on the technological constraints or the method used but rather in an effort to expand access.
